Every year it seems my circle of friends gets smaller and smaller and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m not being cynical or closed off, I’m simply growing up, and I love watching it take it’s course.
If you don’t have a Valentine this year, that’s okay…I think it’s an important time to also reflect and appreciate the close friendships you have in your life. A little bit about me and my galentine (we both have Valentine’s, too, but can always be each other’s galentine’s). Taylor and I met back in 2012 (? WOW !) when we were in HIGH SCHOOL! We were both on the field hockey team and kind of hated every minute of it, so we bonded. We got closer and closer over the years and it’s one of those friendships that has truly never fizzled out. We make time for one another, we don’t have to do anything to have a good time, and enjoy one another’s families. Our boyfriends have gotten to be good friends as well, so it’s really fun!!
Over the past couple years, the word Galentine has been thrown around a lot and honestly, I love it. Long are the days where only people in relationships can celebrate on a certain day — let’s all celebrate. If you have a Galentine or are celebrating anti-Valentine’s in any sort of way, tell me about it!! I think it’s such a fun time of year to celebrate all love.
