Weekend Getaway to BVT

Hi everyone! I don’t know why, but I haven’t posted on here in a while. I had a ton of blog ideas about two months ago that I’ve since put up on here, and now it seems like I need to write up another list of ideas.

In the meantime, though, I thought I’d come on and tell you all about my wonderful weekend in Burlington, VT! My brother and his girlfriend live in the area, so my parents, myself and my boyfriend all decided to take a trip up there to visit them (and their dog, duh) and do some cool Burlington things!

When we first got there on Friday night, we had a nice cookout and played with their Rhodesian Ridgeback, Vega! He is the cutest pup (not really a pup, he’s almost 90 pounds and will be 2 years old next week!) I brought him an ice-cream toy since it’s summertime, and he hasn’t put it down!

The next day, we woke up and headed to the Burlington Farmer’s Market! It’s an outdoor market, featuring food, drinks and goods from Vermont-only made things. I wish we had something, anything like this back in CT! Unfortunately, we don’t, but that’s what makes going to VT that much more fun. We had things like handmade and seasoned popcorn, tamales, strawberry lemonade and more. Plus, right before that we grabbed bacon, egg & cheeses from the Kountry Kart Deli which were sooooo yum.

Right from here, we grabbed some more snacks (we like to eat in this family) and headed to Switchback Brewing Co.

I love to get a flight at Switchback because I love their beer, so trying new kinds, or sampling ones I already know that I like is a lot of fun for me. We sat outside and chatted for a while, and then headed back to the hotel for a much-needed nap.

We headed out to Church Street in Burlington for drinks and dinner because, well, it’s the most fun strip in town! We went to Sweetwaters for dinner and then to Red Square for drinks afterwards. We of course had to stop at Ben & Jerry’s before heading in for the night.

We took some much needed fam pics that I’ll post below!

The next morning we had Feldman’s Bagels for breakfast and then headed over to Red Rock Park for a nice nature walk. After that, we went to City Market to grab lunch before we headed back to ol’ CT. City Market is also so amazing and I wish we had SOMETHING like that in CT too! I mean, make your own sandwiches, all the local food you could ask for and also really big cookies..yum!

We had such a good time in Burlington, all thanks to my brother and his girlfriend. Thanks for having us, we will be back!
