My 2017 in Review: Blog Edition

IMG_4326.JPG

Welcome back, everyone and Happy New Year! I took a bit of a break from my blog to enjoy the holidays with my family and friends, but now that it’s 2018, I couldn’t be more excited to be back.

I thought I’d ring in the new year by doing a sort of reflection, but instead of on my life, on the expansion and growth of my blog! I have to say, 2017 was a big year for Breakfast at Raes.

Around August, I decided to get super serious about blogging. I noticed that when I did write blogs, I had a lot of fun and it was quite relaxing to sit back and write—about something that I love! I have had my website and my Instagram since 2014 and would occasionally post on it when I felt inspired, but it was not until this year that I had a goal to post on Instagram every day and blog about once a week. Since I have been doing that, I’ve seen crazy results in my readership, engagement and most importantly, my friends and their friends contacting me telling me that they are inspired by my style and my words. I learned this year that as long as you’re happy what you’re doing and maybe if you impact one person, that’s enough—at least it is for me.

In late August, you might remember that I came out with my first official blog photos. This really sparked my interest in what I had been doing, and pushed me to do more and be better. These photos were a huge stepping stone into what I would like to think is a successful blog. Take a look back at them below! Here, here and here are my blog posts on these outfits.

In September, I was able to attend the Northeast StyleWeek and I had the time of my life! I enjoyed a nice cocktail hour before the show, sat front row and thoroughly enjoyed each and every one of the designers lineups. I wrote a blog post about my night, which you can find here if you want to get the run down!

By October, I had my next big photoshoot and I absolutely loved how the photos came out. These photos were to showcase some real fall inspired outfits and I think the outfits are a perfect representation of that. Some of the photos from this shoot were even published in my school’s newspaper, which was a really exiting time for me. Check out the blog posts here, here & here

Also in late October, I teamed up with Influenster, which was huge for me! I am now in the rotation for getting VoxBoxes and get sent products to review right here and on my Instagram for you all! I have been having the best time with Influenster and I absolutely love trying out what they send me. I cannot wait to see what’s next for me and Influenster in 2018.

November and December have just been fun for me and Breakfast at Raes. Between inspiring photoshoots, wrapping up my internship at Rhode Island Monthly magazine, producing nice flatlays on Instagram and doing a holiday gift guide/outfit guide, I would say putting effort into my blog has paid off for me.

I am loving the motivation and momentum I have right now when it comes to blogging and I think ringing in a new year is only making it better. Here’s to much more to come for Breakfast at Raes— a lot of hard work, good, quality content and a whole lot of fun. I want to say thanks to all my readers and followers, I am most relaxed and happy when I am creating content for my blog.

XOXO, Rae
